With integrated, rack-mounted storage, the Enterprise 5500 server has a large internal capacity for package-critical compute and I/O-intensive database, decision support and business applications. The 5500 gives you the ability to reconfigure and repair system components while the server remains on-line with more than 1/2 TB of storage in a single data center cabinet. Use 1 to 14 UltraSPARC processors, Cache per processor: Primary: 16-KB instruction, and 16-KB data on chip Secondary: 4 MB external cache. Maximum of eight system boards per system; minimum configuration requires one CPU/Memory board and one I/O board Each CPU/Memory board holds up to two processors and 16 memory SIMMs, 256-MB to 14-GB memory capacity per system, 256-MB and 1-GB memory expansion options (each a group of 8 SIMMs). Each SBus I/O board offers two SBus channels, three SBus slots, SunFastEthernet, fast/wide SCSI-2, two FC-AL sockets.
